Gez sadly died ten years ago but his widow Lynn remembers his time at York RUFC with great pride and fond memories. Lynn donated £500 to sponsor a seat in the Wood-Butler Stand in Gez’s name.
Here’s what Lynn had to say:
“Gez liked to lead by example(especially at the bar) which is the Royal Military Police motto with whom he served. His second family was York Rugby Club and he loved the camaraderie he experienced from the time he was a Colt right up to when he retired from playing. That didn’t stop him supporting the Club though, as is proof in the many tours he still went on. Great memories.
Good Luck with the stand.”
If you’re donating in memory of a former player, friend etc, please let us know.
