An update from the Family.

To you all at the club

I wanted to say an enormous ‘thank you’ to you all for your wonderfully kind words about Dad, after his sudden death.

As you all know, one of the greatest joys in Dads life was rugby- not just for the love of the game, but also for the very many special friendships he made through it, that spanned the decades. York Rugby Club was such a big part of Dad, with countless fond memories- and a great many stories! His pride in the club, the players, and setting up the QSG, and seeing all flourish and achieve so much was such a source of deep happiness, and recalled them with such passion. Many of you have called, text and written and let me know how much you will miss him. It means a great deal to me.

So- Thank you- for all the joy and laughter that all of you brought him, the friendship you offered him, and kindnesses you showed him. I shall let everyone know funeral details when we have them, and look forward to seeing many of you to have a big celebration of his life at the club, following his service. Dads passing leaves an enormous hole in my life and deep sadness, but it is of great comfort that he had such a happy life, and I’m so incredibly proud of him.
