Former York RUFC Prop Dave Dorking sadly passed away after his battle with Cancer on the 20th January 2025.

Dave was a regular fixture in the York 1st Team in the 90s and Early 2000's with Playing spells at Cleckheaton and Selby.

Dave was a L/Cpl in the Royal Corps of Signals based for a large part of his time at 2 Signal Regiment at York's Imphal Barracks. Dave represented the Regiment, Royal Signals and the British Army on a number of occasions. After leaving the British Army Dave worked in the Telecoms Industry ending up at Clarke Telecom as Chief Operations Officer. For York RUFC, as well as playing, he also spent time passing on his skills coaching with the Gage Grade teams.

Dave will be missed at the club and we offer our thoughts and prayers to his Family, Wife Sharon, Daughter Rebecca and Sons Kyle and Luke.

Dave Dorking's funeral will be at York Crematorium at 12.20 on the 13th February with a celebration of his life at York Sports Club there after.
